Business Development at Crunchbase

The Crunchbase Business Development team is responsible for developing partnerships that accelerate Crunchbase’s business. This includes driving usage and adoption of our entire product line, developing product-enabling partnerships to expand our platform, and developing and expanding revenue channels. You will report directly to our Chief Revenue Officer, and will have a record of leading and growing top performing business development and partnerships teams, as well as developing exceptional cross-functional relationships, communication channels and alignment strategies. This is a crucial role to the long-term success of our mission - you will be tasked with evolving our already-successful BD team as we move through our next period of growth. As an enthusiastic and creative team leader, you'll be collaborating with your own teams and our partners to help Crunchbase and your team continue to exceed their goals.

What You'll Do:

  • Be an inspiring leader to our growing BD team who accelerates our culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • Set the vision for Crunchbase’s partnership ecosystem and business development efforts, and align with the leaders of our internal business units on this vision
  • Source, structure, negotiate, and implement effective business development agreements that drive traffic, product adoption, and revenue to the Crunchbase business
  • Forecast and report business growth, supervise actual progress toward forecasts, drive new business opportunities and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of business issues with partners
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and create strategies to adapt to changing market trends to ensure that our partnership strategies, operating practices and people development remain driven
  • Act as an enablement resource and support BD teams in showcasing the power of data & integrations to help our business, product and brand

What We're Looking For:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in business development, with at least 3+ years of leading global or national business development teams at large technology companies
  • A history of sourcing, negotiating, closing and leading product-enabling partnerships, as well as revenue-generating partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
  • Validated ability to interpret legal documents and work with attorneys to complete agreements, and is known for strong attention to detail and analytical skills
